Prepare yourself, Indonesia! The country will soon be home to an internationally certified hyperscale data center. The construction of the Campus 1 of neuCentrIX HyperScale Data Center (HDC) complex is entering its final stage, marked by the topping-off ceremony which was held on Wednesday, 9 June 2021. The ceremony was led by the President Director of Telkom Indonesia, Ririek Adriansyah, accompanied by Telkom Indonesia Network & IT Solution Director, Herlan Wijanarko, and Telkom Indonesia Wholesale & International Service Director, Bogi Witjaksono. It was also attended by the President Director of PT PP (Persero) Tbk, the President Director of PT Arkonin, and the CEO of IBM Indonesia. It was confirmed that the completion of the first phase of neuCentrIX HDC construction was aligned with the set timeline and targets.

The neuCentrIX HDC complex is located on a flood-free area of 65.000 m2 in Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java and will have three data center campuses with a total capacity of up to 10,000 racks. It will house a number of Tier 3 and Tier 4 data centers, providing its customers with high uptime guarantee as well as robust data collection and processing capacity. What’s more, neuCentrIX HDC carries the concept of a green data center which is entitled ECO (Evolve, Connected, & Origin). By utilizing gas-fired power plants and solar panels to power its public areas and offices, neuCentrIX HDC is set to become a data center complex with minimal carbon dioxide gas emissions in its operations and contribute to environmental sustainability.

According to Telkom Indonesia Network & IT Solution Director, Herlan Wijanarko, neuCentrIX HDC provides its customers with two other major advantages besides its international scale facilities. First, neuCentrIX HDC also offers carrier neutrality which means that customers will have multiple network services to choose from. Second, the facility is connected to the entire network which belongs to Telkom Indonesia Group. This makes the hyperscale data center’s scope of work the largest in Indonesia.

The presence of the neuCentrIX HDC in Indonesia has strengthened the position of Telkom Indonesia as the market leader in the data center industry. Today, Telkom Indonesia owns and manages 26 data centers which are located in various big cities across the country, comprising five international data centers, 18 neuCentrIX data centers, as well as three Tier 3 and 4 data centers. With the support of these data centers, Telkom Indonesia is ready to accommodate the nation’s future telecommunications and digital demands including the development of 5G and blockchain edge technology.

At the ceremony, the President Director of Telkom Indonesia, Ririek Adriansyah, stated that neuCentrIX HDC has been built in the spirit of continuous growth, innovation, and transformation to become the country’s leading digital telecommunication company. He also shared his hope that neuCentrIX HDC would play a key role as an enabler for digital businesses to accelerate various ICT services and solutions which will benefit corporations from various sectors, both multinational and regional. "We believe that the existence of the Telkom HyperScale Data Center can have a major impact on the efforts to increase the number of corporations that go digital and become more competitive in the digital era. This also confirms Telkom Indonesia's position as a leading telecommunications company and digital service provider in Indonesia," said Ririek.
